Cannabis card/Dispensaries
There was a process to acquiring our cards (I got one as caregiver). Firstly, diagnosis of a disease on the accepted list. After that, we found a clinic (Innovative Express) where the paperwork gets filed. Brad's Dr. forwarded his medical records to them. There was a $300 fee for the clinic, also a processing fee. then a 6 week wait or more.
Once the card came in, we found a dispensary and got our fingerprints taken. No felons are allowed a card. Rules differ from state to state. We had to contact our state capital and sign up for the dispensary we had chosen (Midway Dispensary), then wait 36 hours before we could use the dispensary.
We were allowed 2.5 ounces of leaf, every 2 weeks. When we made the oil, 1 oz yielded between 6 and 7 grams of oil. Brad was taking 1 gram of oil a day containing high amount of thc/low amount of cbd (eg: Bubba Kush, Gorilla Glue). Further on down the road we added 1 gram of hig cbd/low thc eg: Harle Tsu (ratio is 15:1) when his blood work dropped below normal range (this is a good thing). From our experience, high cbd is great to strengthen the blood. When both thc and cbd are put together, they compliment each other and boost the medicinal effectiveness.
There are many strains of cannabis so a little research online helped us clear things up. That and lots of questions to our dispensary guys. Most dispensaries have some form of discount. Other items available at dispensaries include edibles like gummies, also tinctures, waxes, vapes, rubs, suppositories and more. They also have bargain discounts.
From what people say online about their type of cancer, some say high thc works, some say lower thc. We researched and asked questions on websites and facebook pages like Cannabis oil success stories. It has over 170,000 members. We took everything with a pinch of salt but to see the recurring similarities in people, this is how we fished around for information before deciding which direction to go when buying Cannabis.
