   Why Green Drinks?

The green drink should be done every day. There are powders we use on busy/lazy days to cheat and still get our greens in but there is no substitute for a freshly juiced batch of fresh vegetables. If we were to eat what we juice, our jaws would shut down way before we could consume the amount we do. Juicing is a great way to glug down an amazing amount of nutritious, enzyme filled, cancer fighting veggies.

Adding half a lemon into a green drink in the morning, then again at night will help cut the bitterness and also help to raise PH balance. 2 birds with one stone. We love when this is possible.

Important: Veggies that do not go well in green drinks because of their pungency are garlic and onions. Try specially hard to add garlic to every possible meal. Ginger and Turmeric/Curcumin should be used whenever possible. Turmeric mixed with an oil helps the liver to soak in more medicinal properties instead of passing through the digestive systemand lots going to waste.

The juicer we use is called The Breville and is easy to use, easy to take apart and put back together after washing. Washing is easy, too. We love this machine. The leftover fiber gets frozen and then used to make chicken soup base. Yummy!

We have powdered wheat grass and powdered Spirulina. Both are green antioxidants. Spirulina is an algae, one of the oldest plants on earth and possibly the #1 superfood. Spirulina is super gluey so we use warm/hot water to mix and just plug it down in about 6 oz of water. Same amount for wheatgrass and chug. They taste different. After a while, our bodies craved the taste!

STAYING ON TRACK

Here is our way of tracking Brad's daily diet following Gerson Therapy as closely as we can.

Here is the tricky part...
Each green drink must be made and consumed immediately, otherwise the enzymes break down to nothing within 10-15 minutes and we need the active enzymes to break down the disease.

                    Green Drink #1

Drink several 8 oz glasses a day

  • Handful of Kale

  • 1/2 bunch of spinach

  • 1/4 head medium broccoli

  • Bunch of Italian Parsley

Try to use as much organic food as possible. Amazon Fresh has lots of organic produce for great prices, delivered to the door, for free on orders over $50. Wash everything really well and make sure to check for anywhere bacteria could be. Use all stalks and stems. Run through juicer and drink immediately. The enzymes break down within 15 minutes and the enzymes are what breaks down the disease.
